End of September Weekend
Does anyone else feel like that month just flew by really quickly? What are you planning for this weekend? Today’s blog post will focus on Rhode Island activities, and particularly on those that you should try to get in this weekend:
1. Food Truck Friday at Roger Williams Park (http://rwpzoo.org/carousel-village/plan-carousel-village-visit/food-truck-Friday) : This is at Carousel Village in the park, and this Friday is the last chance of the season to go food truck taste testing! A full list of participating food trucks can be found here: https://www.foodtrucksin.com/carousel, and I’m getting hungry just reading this list!
2. WaterFire Providence Full Lighting (https://waterfire.org/schedule/2017-waterfire-providence-event-schedule/): The full lighting will take place on Saturday, September 30th. The lighting this weekend is sponsored by the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. We’ve never been to a full lighting, but hoping to make it this weekend!
3. Block Island Audubon Birding Weekend (http://www.blockislandinfo.com/island-events/audubon-birding-weekend): This is the weekend to see more than 125 species of birds as they migrate south for the winter, and stopover in Block Island on their way south. Some more information and awesome facts about bird migration can be found here: http://www.audubon.org/news/9-awesome-facts-about-bird-migration; here: http://gilligalloubird.com/10-interesting-facts-about-bird-migration/; and here: https://www.thespruce.com/fun-facts-about-bird-migration-386434. Check out the birds today before they are gone until springtime!
